

About Sophie.
Sophie Carpenter is a New York-based artist dedicated to the constant amelioration of the arts industry. ​A zealous young singer with an aptitude for singing cross-genre, a skilled librettist and composer, and a passionate stage manager, she finds herself at home in a plethora of theatrical roles.
Hailing from San Francisco, California, she fell in love with the performing arts in kindergarten, while watching an opera performed by the San Francisco Opera Guild. Starring in shows like Grease, Hamlet, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, All the President's Turds, Enigma Variations and the western premiere of Dave Malloy's Ghost Quartet.
She received her International Baccalaureate degree from French American International High School, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in voice with a minor in English from Carnegie Mellon University and her Master of Music in voice from the Longy School of Music of Bard.​

She trained with groups such as the Young Women's Chorus of San Francisco and the Metropolitan Chorale, and performed in iconic venues around the world; San Francisco Symphony Hall, San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts, Boston Symphony Hall, SNHU Arena, Matthias Church in Budapest, Pittsburgh Symphony Hall.

Sophie is the co-founder of Ted and Togo Productions, a female-centric production company dedicated to providing opportunities to young artists and performing/producing works by marginalized and underrepresented artists.​​
​
As a performer, she just completed a run of Annie with Theatre Three in Port Jefferson, NY in which she played Mrs.Pugh, Perkins and Sophie the Kettle. She has also recently performed in New York City at the Reverie Room, Green Room 42, and Don't Tell Mama. ​Up next she will be workshopping several new pieces, and debuting a new operatic role.

In her free time, Sophie enjoys exploring the city and everything it has to offer, finding new coffee shops, reading, writing, and running the fun NYCRuns races! She is currently training for the 2026 San Francisco Marathon.
